A visit to Bamboo Restaurant Hawi on the island of Hawaii is a family tradition. On a recent visit, we shopped for island-inspired gifts in the galleries and boutiques before stopping in for lunch at our favourite table at Bamboo Restaurant.
Not much appeared to have changed at one of the island’s oldest dining establishments – the same welcoming hospitality, creative island cocktails, and delicious adult and Keiki menus.
That is until we noticed a shy, grey creature lurking by the window. Charlie, a beautiful island gecko, has taken up residence near our favourite table, and this area is now affectionately known as Charlie’s Corner. The boys were thrilled to have lunch with a well-known local; we can’t wait for our next visit to Hawi and Bamboo for lunch.
Getting There
Hawi, a quaint town on the northern tip of the Big Island, is a scenic 40 min drive from the Mauna Lani Resort area and approximately one hour from Four Seasons Hualalai.
Hawi is so adorable! I almost went to Bamboo but ended up at Sushi Rock down the road which had amazing and unique sushi rolls, not as great as an ambiance as Bamboo though. I bet you had an amazing time in Hawaii!
I have heard good things about Sushi Rock so will check it out next time! Thanks for the tip.
