Favourite Alpine Playgrounds

November 20, 2014

We love exploring the mountains and discovered that in addition to family-friendly hiking, there are some amazing playgrounds and other cool features in the alpine. Over the past few years we have spent time hiking in the Alta Badia region of the Dolomites (Italy), Zermatt (Switzerland), Megève (France), Grindelwald (Switzerland) and Verbier (Switzerland). Each alpine destination offers luxury accommodation, family hiking, delicious dining, and unique alpine features.

Favourite Alpine playgrounds

If we had to pick a destination solely based on playgrounds, we would choose the Dolomite Mountains in Italy. Our favourite alpine playgrounds in the Alta Badia region of Italy go well beyond the standard slide and swings. We had to tear the children away from an amazing water-based, interactive playground at Piz Sorega above San Cassiano. Another favourite is Rifugio Saraghes where the children loved watching the animals and playing on the funky wooden creations.
