  • Aloha from Hawaii! We didn’t see the sunshine today - it’s been pouring rain. I’m participating in my 1st triathlon tomorrow - fingers crossed for a dry day! The 3-day event is called Lavaman & includes a 5km sunset run, Lavakids race (swim & run), & triathlon. Proceeds from the Lavaman weekend support local youth organizations.   • The Living Desert attraction is often on our itinerary when we visit Palm Springs, California. The model road occupies 3/4 of an acre and includes trains operating on more than 3,300 feet of track. Children (and lots of adults) love watching the locomotives chug through historical scenes including Mount Rushmore, a mining town, and the Grand Canyon.
