Summer slips by so quickly, and once it’s mid-August, I begin to look for ways to extend my favourite season. A few years ago we spent five nights at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale right before the school year started – it was fabulous. We returned last year for close to a week. And we are contemplating a trip to Arizona in the coming weeks so that we can enjoy a bit more summer at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale.
With average daily temperatures of 98 F and 87 F in September and October respectively, plus over 10 hours of daily sunshine, the summer season lingers in Scottsdale, Arizona. Here are five ways you (and your kids) can savour an extended summer at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale.
Take a Plunge
Choose between a 6000 square foot free-form pool, family pool, or book a suite with private plunge pool. There are few things better than an afternoon poolside.
At the Four Seasons Scottsdale, you can chill out poolside in a complimentary cabana, complete with overhead misters. Pool attendants circulate throughout the day offering iced water, fresh fruit, and ice cream amenities. And you can order refreshing drinks, snacks, and a meal delivered right to your lounge chair.
Or, you can relax on your luxury suite’s outdoor terrace and cool-off in your private plunge pool.
Play All Day
The complimentary Four Seasons Scottsdale Kids For All Seasons (KFAS) is an opportunity for children between 5 and 12 years to meet some new friends and play every day between 9:00 and 5:00 p.m. From what I hear, the creative crafts, activities, and games feel like an all day recess. Read more about the KFAS schedule here.
Stay Up Late
The fun doesn’t stop when the sun sets at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale.
Dive-in Movies
Complimentary dive-in movies (shown on a massive screen on the pool deck) occur throughout the summer. Get comfy on a padded lounge chair, or pull up a floaty and watch the movie from the pool.
Stargaze
On Thursday nights, a professional astronomer is at the resort. Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale guests can explore the desert night sky with a high-powered telescope.
Because of strict limits on light pollution and the resort’s rural location, the night sky is spectacular (even without a telescope).
Indulge at Proof
Proof, American Canteen, centrally located at Four Seasons Scottsdale has 12 house-made ice creams, a classic soda fountain, plus a build-your-own-sundae station. Nothing screams summer like ice cream. And during the summer, it is half-price from 11:30 a.m. until closing.
Hit The Links or Trails
Guests at Four Seasons Scottsdale enjoy special privileges at Troon North Golf Club. Get up with the sun and get out on the golf course. Or hike the scenic trails at nearby Pinnacle Peak. Reward your efforts with a house-made Bloody Mary cocktail at Proof – it is still summer after all.

Wow a 6000 square foot pool?? Yes please! I would definitely be up for watching a movie from the pool too, as long as it wasn’t Jaws ?
It’s nice to have a go-to place before school starts back up. Especially one with a kid’s program. Looks like a great, relaxing, stay. Love the stargazing in the evening.
There is not one thing here that does not interest me. This looks like a fantastic place to stay while in Scottsdale. The plunge pool is where you would find me!
Woo hoo! I agree with the previous comment! What more could a person want❤️
Exactly!
We stay at the FS Scottsdale during Baseball Spring training in March and absolutely loved it!
Fantastic – Scottsdale is so pretty during the spring.
Can’t go wrong with the Four Seasons, you know that you’ll get a good stay wherever you go, am I right? 😉 I really like that about certain chains, the quality is assured so you just keep going back to them wherever you are. I love the idea behind a ‘Dive-in’ movie experience, imagine if you were watching Jaws from the cool that would be so cool haha! Great post Nancy, so glad you loved your stay 🙂
Wow! A 6000 square foot free-form pool! I’m usually put off by crowded pool so this sounds like heaven to me, haha! What I’d love to do the most however is to watch a movie from a floatie! That would be something different!
That pool looks amazing. It would be really difficult to leave the property!
The Four Seasons Scottsdale is in my neck of the woods now that I live in Scottsdale. Can’t wait to visit sometime — Four Seasons hotels always get it right. Love the Dive-in movies — how fun!
