Review: Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome Berlin

May 4, 2016

Much like the city where it’s based, the past mingles with the present at the luxurious Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome Berlin. As the one-time headquarters of the Dresdner Bank, the Hotel de Rome was designed to incorporate pieces from the building’s past, including a striking 15 cm thick steel door in the spa.

De Rome Spa

Located on the lower level, De Rome Spa was once a vault for jewels and gold. Today, it is sanctuary designed for relaxation with six treatment rooms, a 20 m indoor pool, sauna, steam room and work-out area.

The contemporary La Banca bar and Italian restaurant, named in honour of the building’s past, is the heart of the Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome Berlin. Here guests gather in the welcoming space for breakfast, lunch or dinner served on handcrafted porcelain selected to match La Banc’s design scheme. In warmer months, meals can be enjoyed in a flower-filled courtyard.

Overlooking the Bebelplatz, in the central Mitte District, the Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome Berlin is close to many historical sights including Checkpoint Charlie, Museum Island, the Berlin Wall Memorial, Brandenburg Gate, and the Jewish Museum.
