WeĀ love exploring the mountains and discovered that in addition to family-friendly hiking, there are some amazing playgrounds and other coolĀ features in the alpine. Over the past few years we have spent time hiking in the Alta Badia region of the Dolomites (Italy), Zermatt (Switzerland), MegĆØve (France), Grindelwald (Switzerland) and Verbier (Switzerland). Each alpine destination offers luxury accommodation, family hiking, delicious dining, and unique alpine features.
If we had to pick a destination solely based on playgrounds, we would choose the Dolomite Mountains in Italy. Our favouriteĀ alpine playgrounds in the Alta BadiaĀ region of ItalyĀ go well beyond the standard slide and swings. We had to tear the children away from an amazing water-based, interactiveĀ playground at Piz Sorega aboveĀ San Cassiano. Another favourite is Rifugio Saraghes where the children loved watching the animals and playing on the funky wooden creations.
