Onboard Four Seasons Koh Samui Siam Seas Explorer

Salty sea spray danced alongside as our 42-foot yacht sliced through the moderate swells in Thailand’s Gulf of Siam as we travelled toward Ang Thong National Marine Park.

Located approximately 30 km from Koh Samui, Ang Thong National Marine Park contains over 40 lush limestone islands rising from a picture-perfect cyan-coloured sea. Protected from fishing and development, you can snorkel with colourful fish in crystal clear waters, hike in a rainforest at Koh Sam Sao, or marvel at Emerald Lake on Koh Mae Ko, also known as Mother Island.

Chartering the Four Seasons Koh Samui Siam Seas Explorer, complete with a professional crew of three – captain, butler, and deckhand allowed our family to spend the day exploring the marine park at our leisure. We stopped wherever we wanted – on a beach or in a sheltered cove – and moved on if commercial tour boats appeared.

We feasted on a traditional Thai lunch while anchored in a film set worthy bay, swam with schools of fish, hiked through a tropical forest, and discovered a place that existed in my youngest child’s dream.

Our day onboard the Four Seasons Koh Samui Siam Seas Explorer left us with lasting memories as well as a strong desire to spend another day exploring the islands around Koh Samui.
