Four Seasons Hotel Prague

Three separate historical buildings were joined via new construction to create the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel Prague, centrally located in the capital city of the Czech Republic.

Architecture and Design

The local architectural firm of Dům a Město united the three historic structures in varying styles – Neo-Renaissance, Neo-Classical, and Baroque – and seamlessly blended these with new construction to create a modern and yet historic luxury hotel.

Neo-Renaissance Building

Designed as an apartment house in 1883, the Neo-Renaissance section of the Four Seasons Hotel Prague is primarily upper floor guest rooms plus main floor retail shops.

Neo-Classical Building

Constructed in 1827, the neo-Classical part of the Four Seasons Hotel Prague served as a factory before being converted into an apartment in 1846, and an office in the 1960s. Today, all of the above ground floors are used for public areas, guest rooms, and suites.

Baroque House

The Baroque House is the oldest part of the hotel complex and records show that a structure existed in its place in 1568. In 1737, the existing structure was renovated in the Baroque style. This portion of the hotel is used as conference space while a four-bedroom Presidential Suite occupies the entire second floor.

Location

Located in the Old Town, known as Staré Město, the Four Seasons Hotel Prague overlooks the Vltava River in the cultural and economic center of the city. Historical sights such as Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, and Old Town Square are walking distance from the hotel.

Rooms and Suites

The Four Seasons Hotel Prague has 161 rooms including 20 suites varying in design and decor from contemporary to classic. Like the overall hotel design, the guest rooms are a charming blend of old and new. Beautiful Czech porcelain, luxurious fabrics, and modern amenities make these rooms at the Four Seasons Hotel Prague a delightful place to return to after a busy day exploring the sights.

The layout of the hotel means that the guest rooms are unique, even within a particular room category. As a result, the rooms at the Four Seasons Hotel Prague truly feel more like a home than a hotel.

The views from the guest rooms are as interesting as the room design and range from the streets of Old Town to the Prague Castle. Chef Concierge Petr Zezula says, “I would recommend staying in one of our River Suites offering one-of-a-kind views of the Prague Castle, Lesser Town, and Vltava River. You feel you have Prague on the palm of your hand.”.  We didn’t stay in river view accommodation, but we did enjoy the lovely view of the Vltava River from the outdoor patio at CottoCrudo, the on-site restaurant.

Family Amenities

The Four Seasons Hotel Prague recognizes that comfortable and content children can make the difference between thriving and surviving when families are traveling. Wonderful amenities, children’s menus, and patient staff contributed to a fabulous family stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Prague.

Dining

CottoCrudo, a restaurant, bar, and lounge is the culinary heart of the Four Seasons Hotel Prague. This welcoming space offers a menu incorporating Italian classics with a modern influence, as well as a crudo or raw bar, and numerous seating areas. The outdoor terrace with offers interesting river views during spring and summer months.

Experiences

The Four Seasons Hotel Prague offers guests a range of seasonal experiences including a boat excursion on the Vltava River. The boat trip begins with a short stroll to the dock followed by champagne and light snacks while cruising the Vltava River in a classic wooden boat.

The boat trip is family-friendly and non-alcoholic beverages are available, so even young guests can enjoy the cruise with a refreshing drink.

Special Service

I am a tough marker when it comes to tidying and cleanliness, and the Four Seasons Hotel Prague Housekeeping Team deserves special mention. Not only was our accommodation immaculate and well-stocked each day, but the Housekeepers went the extra mile and organized loose coins, power cords, and children’s clothing. Bravo Four Seasons Hotel Prague Housekeepers, you left me wishing we could move in!
