Fairmont Pacific Rim Gold Floor Review

The Fairmont Pacific Rim is the newest addition to the Fairmont hotel portfolio in Vancouver, and the luxurious Fairmont Pacific Rim Gold Floor is a favourite place to stay for many reasons.

Architecture and Design

Designed by James K.M. Cheng, the Fairmont Pacific Rim is elegant, luxurious, and located in a prime position on Vancouver’s waterfront.

If you look up at the southeast corner of the building, you will see a line of repeated letters between floors 5 and 22. It’s hard to know where artist Liam Gillick’s passage begins and ends, and my children and I often gaze up at the letters and try to decode the message. I recently cracked the code – with a little help from hotel staff. Liam’s message reads, ‘lying on top of a building the clouds looked no nearer than when I was lying on the street.’

Location

Vancouver is a bustling port city, and the Fairmont Pacific Rim offers unobstructed views of Coal Harbour, Stanley Park and the North Shore mountains. During the daytime, Vancouver’s harbour comes alive with seaplanes buzzing, freighters belching, and ferries chugging through Burrard Inlet. Your front-row seat inside the Fairmont Pacific Rim gets you close to the action without any of the accompanying noise.

Rooms & Suites

The 377 well-designed rooms and suites offer comfortable furnishings, a generous use of natural materials, and state-of-the-art technology.

Gold Floor

Fairmont Gold, the property’s exclusive lifestyle hotel experience located on floors 20 – 22, is a more intimate hotel within the hotel. Fairmont Pacific Rim Gold Floor guests enjoy extra amenities including a dedicated concierge, spacious lounge, as well as complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening canapes.

The Fairmont Pacific Rim Gold Floor Honour Bar has a large selection of local and global spirits, beer featuring local micro-breweries, and a wine program offering British Columbia and international options.

Gold Floor guestrooms are luxurious and include oversized marble bathrooms with spa shower or spa shower/deep soaker tub combination.

Amenities

The Fairmont Pacific Rim has a heated outdoor pool and hot tub that are open year-round. The pool deck is lined with lounge chairs and private cabanas during the summer.

The 8,500 square-foot Willow Stream Spa offers nine treatment rooms, a nail salon, relaxation lounges, a fitness centre and an outdoor terrace.

Dining

Dining options at the Fairmont Pacific Rim include Giovane, an Italian-inspired café and market, the Lobby Lounge + Raw Bar, Botanist, or 24-hour in-room dining. Fairmont Pacific Rim Gold Floor guests enjoy breakfast, afternoon tea, evening canapes and dessert in the dedicated lounge.

Giovane Café

Located on the lobby level, Giovane Café is an inviting spot for a meal, quick snack, or gift shopping.

Lobby Lounge + Raw Bar

The Lobby Lounge + Raw Bar is a favourite cocktail and pre-dinner snack spot. Apart from the extensive wine list and delicious sushi, I love the interesting books stacked on the tables, the yummy popcorn and the massive fireplace.

Fairmont Pacific Rim Lobby Lounge

The Fairmont Pacific Rim Gold Floor is a fabulous hotel within a hotel that the entire family loves to visit. You can design and build a luxury hotel, but without attentive staff, it will never become a special place. The Fairmont Pacific Rim Gold Floor staff know how to care for their guests, even the young ones.
