As a user of Susanne Kaufmann’s amazing nature-inspired health & beauty products, I was thrilled to stay at her property, the Hotel Post Bezau, in the Bregenzerwald region of Vorarlberg, Austria.

Location Hotel Post Bezau

Flower-filled alpine meadows, evergreen forests, and hiker-friendly mountains flank the idyllic town of Bezau and theĀ award-winning Hotel Post. This nature-rich region, known as Bregenzerwald, is where Susanne Kaufmann sources the ingredients for her organic skincare line.

The Post Hotel Bezau opened as a post office with rooms for rent along a stagecoach line over 160 years ago. The founder was Susanne Kaufmann’s great-great-grandfather, and the original spruce and fir post office building is part of the Hotel Post.

Architecture and Design

The Bregenzerwald region is famous for its well-designed and constructed wooden buildings like the Hotel Post Bezau. In this region,Ā architects and craftsman work as equals, respect traditional methods, and utilize innovative techniques. The result is beautiful wooden buildings that blend with the natural landscape.

Gourmet Restaurant Irma at the Hotel Post Bezau features an area for fine-dining, a sun terrace for light snacks and drinks, as well as a lounge near the hotel lobby. The menu at Gourmet Restaurant Irma features productsĀ from the Bregenzerwald region.

With multiple pools (one indoor and small salt water pool outside), a gym, tennis courts (two indoor and two outdoor), a tennis school, as well as outdoor activities, it is easy for kids and adults to stay active while visiting Bezau. During the warmer months, hotel guests can access mountain bikes and Nordic walking poles on a complimentary basis. And then there is the Susanne Kaufmann Spa.

The award-winning Susanne Kaufmann Spa, designed by architect Oskar Leo Kaufmann (Susanne’s brother), is modern and luxurious. Spa guests can enjoy a range of classic and special spa rituals. Read more about the Susanne Kaufmann Spa here.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time for a spa treatment, but I purchased a few boxes of Susanne’s delicious anti-aging tea. It seems to be working.

  1. What a beautiful location. The history surrounding the Hotel Post is fascinating. The spa sounds heavenlyā¤ļø

  2. The Hotel Post is exactly what you think of when you think of Alpine Austria. I love that it was originally a post office too. Must have some very good history to go with the hotel. I also find it interesting that they have two indoor tennis courts. That would surely come in handy during bad winter months!

  3. Well doesn’t this just look like a fairytale stay! I love that part of the world and their love of all things organic and healthy! Love the history of the hotel – what a great story!

  4. So charming. Always love a place of residence which has history attached to it. A post office and now a unique hotel, that’s quite the journey that the hotel has been through. 5)2 Salt Water pool might be small but I love the idea of having it. Lovely location as well.

  5. What a lovely-looking hotel! I love the architecture, especially the design of the pool. Great line, too: “I purchased a few boxes of Susanneā€™s delicious anti-aging tea. It seems to be working.” šŸ™‚

  6. That is interesting starting off as a post office. The hotel looks like a grand mansion and has a warm homely feeling to it. I liked the greenery around very much.

  7. The Post Hotel Bezau sounds like an incredible accommodation experience – I would love to visit with my husband – I love unique hotels and have been shying away from anything cookie cutter these days. Love the history which goes along with it, and of course the stunning location. Not having had time for the spa just means you have an excuse to go back šŸ˜€

  8. This looks amazing! Shame you weren’t able to go back to the spa- but then again it’s just an excuse to head back right? Love the natural wood look!
