Prairie Fun in Calgary – Family Visit to Granary Road and The Loft Kitchen

On a recent visit to Calgary, Alberta we toured Canadian Rocky Mountain Resort’s private ranch, explored Granary Road, and dined at The Loft Kitchen.  The Granary Road complex is an entertainment, dining and market destination in Calgary’s Foothills District. Exploring Granary Road

Granary Road Active Learning Park

From spring to fall, Calgary’s Granary Road Active Learning Park provides three kilometers of trails through various exhibits featuring animal, insect, and agricultural themes. The interactive learning activities include a giant animatronic spider, live farm animals, and a wetlands discovery.

Granary Road Public Market

The Market at Granary Road is an upscale public market located in a light-filled wooden building designed to reflect a traditional prairie granary. The Market at Granary Road features over thirty different types of products including fresh produce, baked goods, designer chocolates, wine, and gift items.

The Loft Kitchen, Bakery, and Lounge

At Granary Road, Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts (CRMR) operate The Loft Kitchen, Bakery, and Lounge – all three source ingredients from local producers and small businesses including the CRMR Ranch in Calgary.

• At Granary Road, the Loft Bakery and Kitchen are open from 9:30 to 5:30 p.m. and the Loft Lounge 11:00 a.m. to close.
• In addition to three restaurants in Calgary – Cilantro, The Lake House, and The Loft properties at Granary Road, CRMR operates three mountain lodges in the Canadian Rockies – Buffalo Mountain Lodge in Banff, Emerald Lake Lodge in Field, and Deer Lodge in Lake Louise.
• Each CRMR lodge and restaurant use high-quality, local ingredients including bison and elk raised on the CRMR Ranch located near Calgary.
