Review: Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome Berlin

Skyline view Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome Berlin

Much like the city where it’s based, the past mingles with the present at the luxurious Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome Berlin. As the one-time headquarters of the Dresdner Bank, the Hotel de Rome was designed to incorporate pieces from the building’s past, including a striking 15 cm thick steel door in the spa.

De Rome Spa

Located on the lower level, De Rome Spa was once a vault for jewels and gold. Today, it is sanctuary designed for relaxation with six treatment rooms, a 20 m indoor pool, sauna, steam room and work-out area.

Dining

The contemporary La Banca bar and Italian restaurant, named in honour of the building’s past, is the heart of the Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome Berlin. Here guests gather in the welcoming space for breakfast, lunch or dinner served on handcrafted porcelain selected to match La Banc’s design scheme. In warmer months, meals can be enjoyed in a flower-filled courtyard.

I recently spent five nights in a Deluxe Room at the Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome Berlin and could have easily extended my stay – it is an excellent hotel.
