At the SWISS First Lounge E at Zurich Aiport, the Champagne Bar, flanked by a restaurant and a lounge area, is an excellent first stop. Here you can enjoy a glass or two of bubbles and decide on your next move. Dine à la carte, relax or work, check in to one of the hotel-style rooms, freshen up before your flight, or admire the view from the expansive outdoor terrace. This new SWISS First Lounge is a lot different from the previous SWISS lounge.
Champagne Bar
With natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the space, extensive use of wood, and an overall minimalist design, every inch of the Champagne Bar feels first class, including the French Champagne.
Wine
If you prefer wine, the SWISS First Lounge has an impressive wine humidor with over 1000 bottles of wine from all over the world. Santé!
Dining
Guests – no one feels like a passenger in this lounge – can dine à la carte in the dining area, lounge area, or on the outdoor terrace. I’m not sure if it is possible to request room service from one of the hotel rooms, but given the attentive staff in the SWISS First Lounge, I doubt anyone would refuse.
Lounge or Work
The private living room-like areas in the Swiss First Lounge are fabulous. The comfort factor, privacy, interesting reading material, and state-of-the-art TV’s score Swiss a five out of five on this well-designed space.
Work
If work is calling, there are mini-suites with seating for up to six as well as a conference room.
Hotel Rooms
There are two hotel-style rooms with double beds, en-suite bathrooms, and gorgeous views of the Alps available for use while in the SWISS First Lounge.
SWISS First Lounge E – Outdoor Terrace
Visit the beautiful outdoor terrace for a meal, snack, or drink. If you enjoy plane spotting or want a closer look at the Alps, help yourself to the Leica binoculars. During the winter months, raclette and fondue are served on the outdoor terrace.
Travel Tips
- There are two SWISS First Lounges at the Zurich Airport (ZRH) – one in Terminal A and the newest in Terminal E. Read about my visit to the SWISS First Lounge in Terminal A here.
- It is always an excellent idea to arrive at the airport well in advance of your flight. If you have access to the SWISS First Lounge E in Zurich, arrive as early as possible.
- Be sure to request a hotel room when you reach the lounge – the rooms can’t be reserved in advance.

How luxurious! I’m not a brand loyal flyer, so don’t usually get the perk of an airline lounge. This makes me reconsider that choice!

Airport lounges just get better and better don’t they? Some of the Middle Eastern lounges are hard to beat but this looks very luxurious. I look forward to going one day.
